Everything you need to know ahead of the Premier League match at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger faces arch-rival Jose Mourinho for the last time as Gunners boss on Sunday, although the Frenchman will most likely have one eye on next week's crucial European semi-final clash against Atletico Madrid.

Wenger and Mourinho have had fierce battles on the touchline over the years, with the latter previously labelling the Arsenal manager a "specialist in failure", while Wenger once said: "When you give success to stupid people, it sometimes makes them more stupid."

The Gunners top four hopes are out of sight and with the Europa League hanging by a thread, it's expected that Wenger will ring the changes for Sunday's historically intense clash.

Former Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez will also feature against his old club for the first time since leaving the north Londoners in January.

Arsenal injuries

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is running again in training but won't be fit for Sunday's game, with Wenger targeting the match in Madrid as a potential return date for the Armenian.

Egypt midfielder Mohamed Elneny is out with ankle ligament damage and is expected to be on the sidelines for at least a fortnight.

Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla remains a long-term absentee with an Achilles injury, although he was pictured training on the Emirates pitch before the Europa League semi-final against Atletico on Thursday.

Arsenal potential starting line-up

Wenger could rest a number of players ahead of Thursday's crucial Europa League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid.

The likes of Alex Iwobi and Sead Kolasinac could start, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Calum Chambers or Rob Holding are able to fill in for Laurent Koscielny, with the Frenchman carefully managing his chronic Achilles problem.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to return up front and could play alongside Welbeck, with Petr Cech expected to return between the sticks.

Man Utd injuries

Other than the continued absence of Sergio Romero with a knee injury, United should be heading into Sunday's game with a clean bill of health. Antonio Valencia did leave the field early at Wembley due to a muscle problem, but he is expected to be available to start against Arsenal.

Man Utd Potential Starting Line-Up

Mourinho may well decide to go with an unchanged side as he looks to get Champions League qualification secured at the earliest opportunity, especially given how well his side played in the victory over Tottenham.

However, there will be the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Marouane Fellaini, Luke Shaw, Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo and Victor Lindelof all hoping to be considered for call-ups after missing last week's win at Wembley.

With trips to Brighton and West Ham to come, followed by a final league fixture at home to Watford, the United boss will need to decide how he can make the most of his squad while keeping the momentum up before the Reds head back to the national stadium in three weeks' time.

Did you know?
Eleven of AFC Bournemouth’s last 12 Premier League home goals have come in the second half, while Manchester United’s last 10 away goals have also come after half-time.

Both teams have found the net in four of the last five PL meetings between the sides, with Man Utd’s 1-0 win in December the only time a team have kept a clean sheet during that spell.

Man Utd have come from two goals down to win their last two PL away matches, becoming the first side in the history of the competition to do so. Only twice has a side come from behind by any scoreline to win three consecutive away fixtures: Leeds United in October 1999 and Tottenham Hotspur in December 2013.

Romelu Lukaku has scored six goals in his five PL appearances against AFC Bournemouth, including the winner in the reverse fixture in December and a four-goal haul for Everton last season.

Saints are without defender Jack Stephens after he was sent off in the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal last weekend.

That could mean a debut in a five-man defence for 22-year-old Bednarek, who joined last summer from Lech Poznan but has so far only featured in cup competitions.

"I've got options which I'm grateful for, but obviously you want continuity," said Saints boss Mark Hughes on Thursday.

"Bednarek's a good young player, he came here for a significant amount of money, and he's played at a good level in Poland, in front of huge crowds. So it's not as if he hasn't got experience of operating at high level with pressure to perform.

"He's only 22, it's his birthday today in fact, but if I make the decision that he's going to be involved, then I've got no qualms with that."

Saints start the weekend in the relegation zone, three points from safety with six games left to play. They also face Chelsea in the semi-finals of the FA Cup next weekend.

Chelsea have won just one of their last five Premier League matches and are 10 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.

Team news
Saints' only absentees are the suspended Stephens and Steven Davis, who is not yet ready to return from injury.

Chelsea have no new injury concerns, with David Luiz (knee) and Ethan Ampadu (ankle) still out.

Merson's prediction
This is a must-win game for Southampton. Would they rather win this or the FA Cup semi-final next week? I don't know.

I think Southampton need to have a go and that will allow Chelsea to pick them off.

It's a nice game for Chelsea as Southampton have to come out and play and aren't going to kick them off the pitch. I don't think they will make it that hard for Chelsea.

Southampton had a great chance to beat Arsenal last weekend after taking the lead but if they don't win this game then they probably need to win two or three of their last five, which is too much.

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-3

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice, the second a stunning overhead kick, before Marcelo added a third as the holders look to make an eighth consecutive last-four spot after six consecutive last-16 exits.

Wednesday's came could be Massimiliano Allegri's final Champions League game in charge of Juventus, with Standard Sport reporting that Chelsea's interest in the Italian is prompting the club to draw up a list of possible replacements.

No team has ever overturned a 3-0 home defeat and the Old Lady's task is even harder with Paulo Dybala and Rodrigo Bentancur suspended. Sergio Ramos will be missing for the hosts.

Team News
How the sides could line up....

Real Madrid (4-3-3): Navas; Carvajal, Theo, Varane, Marcelo; Casemiro, Modric, Kroos; Ronaldo, Benzema, Isco.

Juventus (4-2-3-1): Buffon; De Sciglio, Chiellini, Benatia, Asamoah; Khedira, Matuidi, Marchisio, Pjanic, Cuadrado, Higuain.

*Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) and Pablo Dybala (Juventus), Rodrigo Bentancur (Juventus) miss the match through suspension

Everton vs. Liverpool - prediction, team news, lineups

Everton welcome the visit of Liverpool in the Merseyside derby with Jurgen Klopp's charges coming off the back of a thumping 3-0 Champions League win over Manchester City.

The Toffees are in the midst of some worrying form against the Reds when it comes to one of football's historic fixtures and Sam Allardyce will be hoping that his men can bring Liverpool back down to earth following their midweek exploits in Europe.

Everton
Everton have endured a difficult season, but Allardyce has thankfully ensured that the Toffees will retain their top-flight status for another term.

The blue side of the city have seen their team win only one of their last 22 league meetings with Liverpool, having drawn 10 and lost 11 against the Reds.

At times Allardyce's charges have been hard to beat at home, although Everton have really struggled when competing at Goodison when facing sides from the supposed 'top six'. Seven of Everton's last eight league losses at home have come against sides in that bracket.

Following a testing campaign, Everton fans will likely be pleased with the progress of forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The youngster is level with Wayne Rooney in terms of being directly involved with the most goals for the club this season. The 21-year-old has eight goals and six assists.

The club have been rocked by a number of injuries lately, although the January addition of Turkish hitman Cenk Tosun seems to have lifted Everton going forward. The new striker appears to be a solid buy for Everton, who have often been criticised for a poor transfer strategy when spending big last summer.

In fact, Tosun has scored four goals in his last four games for the Toffees. The 26-year-old has already been quick to draw praise from teammate and winger Theo Walcott too, who recently lauded the frontman's movement and positioning inside the box.

As you might expect, contests between the two clubs have often been fiery affairs and statistics show that 21 red cards have been handed out in the Premier League meetings between these sides, which represents the most of any fixture in the top flight.

Allardyce has enjoyed a long and successful career in the Premier League, but should the Everton boss lose on Saturday afternoon he would become only the second manager behind Harry Redknapp to suffer defeat in 200 games in the division.

Liverpool

Liverpool head into the derby having demolished Manchester City 3-0 in the quarter-finals of their Champions League clash at Anfield on Wednesday night.

Klopp's charges will likely prioritise Europe going forward, although the club's finish in the Premier League will be important should they be eliminated on the continent and still want to qualify for Europe's elite competition next term.

The Reds currently find themselves in third place in the league standings, two points clear of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur who have a game in hand. Liverpool fans are bolstered by the fact that chasers Chelsea are languishing eight points adrift of the league's last Champions League place, though.

Some problematic scheduling has left Klopp frustrated that the derby has been scheduled early on Saturday afternoon, just a couple of days after their midweek meeting with City. The result of that fixture will have provided the German with some relief, however, given the sizeable lead the Reds now hold over Pep Guardiola's men.

Having lost to Manchester United at the start of March, Liverpool are now on a three-game winning streak in the Premier League and head into the game as the narrative surrounding Mohamed Salah only seems to become more captivating.

Having scored the winner against Crystal Palace at the weekend, the Egyptian now has 29 Premier League goals and has provided nine assists with another six games still to be played. The forward has broken a whole host of records this term, including the most goals in a season by a Liverpool player in the Premier League era. Such has been the 25-year-old's form this season, he is now just three goals away from scoring the most goals in a 38-game Premier League campaign.

Salah scored against City during the week, but he also looked to have picked up a groin injury during the victory. Klopp moved to reassure fans after the game that Salah was feeling "fine", but tempered his remarks by stating that the club will "have to wait for the real diagnosis" ahead of Saturday's meeting.

Travelling to Goodison, Liverpool have held much of the bragging rights over the blue half of Merseyside in recent years. Everton are targeting their first Premier League win over Liverpool after coming up short on the last 14 occasions.

Team News

Idrissa Gueye is likely to miss out for Everton after a muscle tear issue, although Ashley Williams could make a return from suspension against the Reds.

Allardyce finds himself without Gylfi Sigurdsson, Eliaquim Mangala, Mason Holgate and James McCarthy, who are all missing through injury.

Liverpool will be making a late check on Salah to ensure that he is fit enough to start the game at Goodison. If he is, he will likely line up in a front three with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain shone on Wednesday and he will be competing for a place with Georginio Wijnaldum in midfield alongside the duo of James Milner and Jordan Henderson.

Klopp will probably be without Emre Can, while Joel Matip, Adam Lallana, Joe Gomez and Ragnar Klavan all find themselves injured too.

Everton possible starting lineup:
Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Williams, Baines; Gueye, Schneiderlin; Walcott, Rooney, Bolasie; Tosun

Liverpool possible starting lineup:

Karius; Alexander-Arnold, van Dijk, Lovren, Moreno; Milner, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Firmino, Mane, Salah

Head To Head
The Toffees have managed to win just once in their previous 22 league meetings with the Reds. Everton last won a Merseyside derby in the top flight in October 2010 courtesy of a 2-0 victory.

Four of the last five Premier League fixtures at Goodison Park have actually ended in draws, although Liverpool were able to claim a 1-0 win in the contest last season.

The reverse of this fixture earlier in this campaign ended in a 1-1 draw at Anfield. Across their last six meetings, Liverpool have won four and drawn twice.

We say: Everton 1-2 Liverpool

Liverpool's win on Wednesday will leave the club and its fans brimming with confidence heading into a derby that they have dominated in recent years.

Klopp still has ambitions of shoring up Champions League safety for next term and he will not be taking the league lightly despite the club's seemingly impressive progress in Europe.

As for Everton, safety is all but secured for the Toffees and this fixture presents a chance for Allardyce's side to face their fierce rivals without too much pressure on the contest, hopefully leading to an open encounter at Goodison.
